Assistant Manager 
The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the bakery. This role involves assisting with staff management, ensuring product quality, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service. The Assistant Bakery Manager also plays a key role in implementing bakery policies, managing administrative tasks, and stepping in for the Bakery Manager as needed.

Essential Responsibilities
Leadership and Supervision
•    Responsible for assisting the bakery manager with the continuous direction of daily operation of the Bakery
•    Assists the Bakery Manager with ensuring proper staffing of assigned settings through direct responsibility for employee selection, scheduling, supervision, coaching, evaluation, and when necessary, disciplinary actions up to and including termination.  
•    Motivates and inspires staff and promotes teamwork through effective and ongoing communication, recognition, and mentoring, and leadership of regular staff meetings.  
•    Assures staff receives training as required and as needed in order to be successful.
Operation Management
•    Assist the Bakery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the bakery, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
•    Schedule and supervise bakery staff, including bakers, clerks, and support personnel.
•    Ensure the bakery is clean, organized, and meets all health and safety standards.
Quality Control
•    Maintain high standards for the quality and consistency of baked goods.
•    Conduct regular taste tests and quality checks.
•    Implement and oversee standard operating procedures (SOPs) for baking and decorating.
 Inventory Management
•    Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
•    Place orders with suppliers and manage relationships with vendors.
•    Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste, spoilage, and other shrinkage.
Financial Management
•    Monitor sales and expenses, aiming to achieve financial targets.
•    Implement cost control measures to maximize profitability.
Compliance
•    Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and health standards.
•    Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Other Duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:
The Assistant Bakery Manager must be at least 18 years of age.
The Assistant Bakery Manager must hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
The Assistant Bakery Manager must pass a DHI Background Check in line with DHI policy and DHS standards (see Background Checks policy for most current guidelines).
The Bakery Manager must possess an Associate’s degree in hospitality management, or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or have an equivalent of experience and education.
