Individual Employment – Employment and Community Services Specialist (ECSS)

As an Employment and Community Services Specialist (ECSS), your main role will be to work collaboratively with a team to provide personalized support to meet the diverse needs of the individuals we serve. You will offer job seeking assistance to those just starting their employment journey and provide job coaching to those who maintain employment in the Grand Forks area, hired directly by area businesses.

You will be responsible for creating a comfortable social and work environment as part of our Individual Employment programs. From creating resume’s, practicing interview skills, completing applications and providing coaching on the job, you will be there to make every moment a memorable one, as a mentor and source of inspiration for our individuals who desire to be a part of their community and earn a paycheck.

Your daily routine may vary, but there is a set of basic responsibilities that you can expect to perform based on the needs of the person or people you are supporting. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Personal Care Support: Ensure that people supported are groomed and dressed appropriately for working out in the community.
  • Detailed Documentation: Thoroughly document individuals' progress, challenges, and achievements, actively participating in training and development opportunities.
  • Job Coaching Assistance: Support individuals to maintain great working relationships and social connections within their place of employment. Promote independence and empower those you support to lead fulfilling lives outside traditional boundaries.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Any combination of training and experience demonstrating an ability to perform the duties described is preferred.
  • Previous experience in DD Residential or Employment Services preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Position requires successful completion of criminal background, child abuse, and neglect check, and a pre-employment drug test to be eligible for employment.
  • Current and valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and insurable driving record following company guidelines.

Compensation and Benefits:

Individual Employment – Employment and Community Services Specialist (ECSS): $21.00/hr.
