Maintenance Worker

Maintenance (Operations) Worker
As a maintenance worker, your primary responsibility is to ensure that the group home residences and the corporate office building provide a clean, sanitized, and safe environment for people receiving services, staff, and visitors. This involves complying with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies' standards. In addition, as a maintenance worker, you may be required to perform light and routine maintenance tasks such as replacing lightbulbs, touching up paint, and carrying out minor floor repairs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Duties include cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, buffing, dusting, polishing furniture, emptying trash, washing waste receptacles, and vacuuming floors in the main corporate office and group home settings.
- Duties also include cleaning walls, vents, radiators, doors, and windows, replenishing paper supplies, and following DHI infection control policies, guidelines, and general safety rules.
- Cleaning equipment and supplies are to be used efficiently, effectively, and properly as it is also your responsibility to communicate both verbally and in writing relevant information regarding custodial and safety issues and adhere to HIPAA regulations on privacy and security.
- May be requested to drive company vehicles to assist the Operations Department and perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- One year of experience in a custodial/housekeeping position is preferred.
- Previous experience in developmental disability residential services is preferred.
- Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates an ability to perform the duties as described.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work Monday to Wednesday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Thursday and Friday are flexible and can be worked during the evenings or on weekends after business hours.
- Position requires successful completion of criminal background, child abuse and neglect check, and a pre-employment drug test to be eligible for employment.
- Current and valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and insurable driving record following company guidelines.
Compensation and Benefits:
Maintenance Worker: The hourly wage for this position is $20.00/hr.
