Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: October 2026

At Development Homes, Inc., we are committed to improving digital accessibility for individuals of all abilities. We believe everyone should be able to access information and services online, and we strive to make our website usable and accessible to people with disabilities. Accessibility improvements are an ongoing project, and we are continually working to identify and address barriers across our digital content and services.

1. Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. These guidelines define three conformance levels: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Development Homes, Inc. is working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance for its website. Our accessibility efforts are ongoing, and we are progressively reviewing and improving website content, navigation, and interactive features. We recognize that some areas may not yet fully conform to accessibility standards.

2. Accessibility Features and Improvements

As part of our ongoing accessibility project, we are working to improve the browsing experience for visitors with disabilities. Our efforts include:

  • Assistive Accessibility Tool: We are evaluating and implementing accessibility features to help visitors customize their browsing experience, including options such as text sizing, contrast adjustments, link highlighting, and other visual preferences where supported.
  • Keyboard Navigation: We are reviewing navigation menus, links, forms, and interactive elements to improve usability for visitors who rely on keyboard navigation.
  • Semantic Structure: We are working to improve heading hierarchies, page organization, accessible names, and semantic HTML landmarks to help screen-reader users navigate our website.
  • Responsive Scaling: We are reviewing website layouts to support different screen sizes, browser zoom levels, and assistive technologies without loss of important content or functionality.

3. Known Limitations and Non-Accessible Content

While we strive to improve accessibility, some areas of our website may currently have limitations. We are actively working to identify and address accessibility barriers as part of our ongoing project.

A. Brand Color Contrast

  • Certain existing brand color combinations may not meet the WCAG contrast requirements, including the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text.
  • We are reviewing colors, links, buttons, and other interface elements to identify opportunities to improve contrast while maintaining our visual identity.

B. Third-Party Integrations and Plugins

  • Our website may use third-party services, plugins, embedded content, and interactive features to provide information and functionality.
  • Because some of these services are maintained by external providers, their accessibility may be outside our direct control. We are working to identify compatibility issues and pursue improvements or accessible alternatives where feasible.

C. Technical Documents and Legacy Media

  • Some downloadable documents, PDFs, images, and historical resources may not yet have appropriate tagging, alternative text, reading order, or other accessibility features.
  • Certain video content or graphical materials may require additional captions, descriptions, or alternative formats. We are reviewing these materials and working to improve accessibility where possible.

4. What We Are Doing to Improve

Digital accessibility is an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time project. Development Homes, Inc. is working toward improving and maintaining accessibility across its website through the following efforts:

  • Routine Audits: Conducting accessibility reviews using automated and manual testing tools, including Lighthouse, WAVE, and axe DevTools, as part of ongoing website maintenance and improvement work.
  • Ongoing Content Remediation: Reviewing and improving image alternative text, form labels, link descriptions, and page content organization.
  • Design and Component Testing: Evaluating website components, navigation, and interactive elements across modern browsers, devices, and different screen sizes.
  • Progressive Remediation: Prioritizing identified accessibility issues and addressing them as resources, platform capabilities, and development access allow.

Our goal is to continually improve the accessibility and usability of our website while recognizing that some technical limitations may require additional support from our website platform provider.
